Thorn in My Side

I'm trying to practice thankfulness, but right now I need to vent about one very small thing.  My left hand is KILLING ME. I haven't gotten into poison ivy for a couple of years as far as I know, but I keep having this itchy, bubbly rash that LOOKS like poison ivy come back every couple of months. It's always on my left hand and usually around my ring finger. My wedding rings have been stuck on my finger since I got pregnant, and now the rash is under them and around them and making my skin swell painfully.  I have this fear that someone's going to have to cut my ring off, or worse...my finger, should the swelling kick into high gear.  But right now I'm having a Eustace moment.  Only I'm not a dragon.  And people can understand me when I talk.  I just hope I don't get poison ivy on the baby.  If there is urushiol (the oil that poison ivy leaves contain that people have reactions to) under or on my ring, I have no way to get it off to clean it.  And I wash my hands and wash dishes many times a day!  How can this keep happening?  Pray for me if you think of it.  Trying to figure out where the urushiol that's causing this rash is hiding is driving me insane.

  1. I am SO sorry for the itchy rash on your hand. That's terrible! It's totally ok to vent -- especially on your on freakin' blog. I always appreciate that you are so "real."
